Here's wishing the cast and crew of The Pirate Queen an amazing opening night!!!!! And lots of healthy vibes to Stephanie, who was out sick for the last three performances but according to the PQ boards is going to try and go on tonight!

Hopefully this show will go on to run for years and years! :-D

If anyone hasn't seen it yet, there's a 9 minute press rehearsal video on broadway.com with rehearsal footage and interviews and such from The Pirate Queen here!

Eeeee, can't wait to see this show again next month! I'm so excited to see the changes and hear the new song! I gotta say though, if that's the new opening I don't think I'm too crazy about it. Would have to see it live and in context of course, but I don't think I really like the addition of the dancing. But that's because I loved the opening before, when they just pounded the oars and then started singing! Ah well, it's still going to be amazing!!!!

And I have to say that I'm very amused over how for most of it Hadley just stands there and doesn't dance. :-) (For those who haven't seen the castcoms, he's said he's an awful dancer! :-))

*edit* Don't get me wrong, I LOVE that they're adding more dancing! I'm just not that crazy about it in that particular scene. :-)

The first NYC Castcom is up--and Castcom officially starts again next week! Eeeee! Get excited.

Anyone have tickets to the show on Broadway yet?

I just got an ad in the mail for the musical when it shows up in New york and I've been meaning to look into it for a while now. So, After googling and such, I can't find a trailer. I mean, Some actual footage from the show or some songs I can download? I saw the trailer on the website and I poked around the castcom archives and I wish I had something better so I could get a good feel of the show before I buy tickets.

Since, I may like it but.. My boyfriend will never forgive me to taking him to a boring broadway show. (he liked poto and lestat though..)

Any linkage or whichever is appreciated, thanks. :D

First of all, three icons:

And second of all, has anyone else read the novel 'Grania' by Morgan Llywelyn, the book PQ is based on? I just finished it this week, and I really really enjoyed it. Although I read it because of the show, I loved it beyond the realm of just liking it because PQ is based on it. I loved the way Grania was portrayed, how she evolved as a person & ruler, and I felt like I had almost come to know her by the end of the book. I really can't even list all the ways I loved it. So I highly reccomend to all of you all if you haven't read it. :)

PS; Hi, I'm Nancy!

I'm so sad that the Chicago run is closing tomorrow! Is anyone here going? If so, see you there! :-)

Oh while I'm here, I have stage door pics from 11/17/06 if anyone is interested. :-) I've seen it four times so far but only was able to stage door twice, and the first time is on my regular camera. Me with Hadley and StephanieCollapse )

Hi, Pirate Queen fans! My name is Leigh and I just joined this community. About two hours ago, I got home from seeing this truly phenomenal musical....and being the nerd that I am, I had to sign on to LJ and see if there were any relevant communities to join. :o) I'd been looking forward to seeing it for MONTHS, as you can imagine--my friend and I should have seen Stephanie J. Block in Wicked last year, but when we got there, we realized her understudy was doing that performance!--and finally seeing this powerful production with Stephanie at her finest was really an incredible experience.

Sorry to ramble, but I'm pretty much over the moon right now....because after the performance, my friend and I met Stephanie outside the theater. :D And she was so sweet--! So yeah, I'm kind of thrilled about that, and still high on Irish music, and....... well. I'll quit babbling now.

Anyway. Hello, and nice to meet you!
